Men's Captain's Day (8.30am shotgun start)

Saturday 27th July 2024 - Benton Hall, Blue Tees

On Saturday 29th July we have our big summer event - Men's Captain’s Day (8:30am shotgun start). This provides us with an opportunity to take ourselves as golfers less seriously and have a fun day out. Our theme this year is ‘Hawaiian Shirts’ and ask all please to make your best efforts to be appropriately dressed. There will also be a raffle and your final chance to buy tickets for the 2024 Membership Raffle, which the winners will be drawn around 2pm. All profits from the day will go to the nominated Captain’s Charities. There will be a presentation in the Golf Bar following the conclusion of play.

Players should enter as a pair and each pair will be randomly drawn with another pair to make a team of 4, with the best 3 Stableford scores per hole counting towards the overall team total (teams of 3 may score 1.5 points on a hole if required). Please note, after feedback from last year on the length the round took, we’ll be playing only 16 of the regular holes (excluding 14 & 15) and will add alternate options to complete a full 18 on the scorecard; to be disclosed on the day! If you do not have a partner, please let me know and we’ll try and pair you up with someone. Please note that 5-day members may enter the competition from 20th July onwards.

The fee is higher this year but will include several refreshment options and food after and well worth your £15 per player. Look out for ‘Little Mexico’ near the 16th tee and the Hawaiian Cocktail tent and games on the 6th Tee.
